27 helmet liners are on their way to Afghanistan. Thank you to Michael Chappell, my cousin’s son who is a Lieutenant with Delta Company in the Central New York’s National Guard. The helmet liners are going to the Illinois company that replaced them when the NY company returned last year. I wrote a note to explain where the helmet liners had come from and how we all send our best wishes for their safe return. The next liners I send, I would ask you send a short note to go with them. I was surprised how emotional I was packing them up. We can only hope our liners will help make a difference to the comfort of the soldiers that are wearing them, God speed.

Tuesday, January 5th, 2010Ok. I know it is a lot of snow, but it does look like a postcard out the shop window. I have dismantled the Christmas tree, and will need to take down my wreath my niece Marya made me. It is gorgeous, with balls of yarn and knitting needles. I always look forward to the new year. A clean slate. More people to meet, more to see, more to learn. I must give a big thank you to my brother Michael, who spent 3 days with me doing stock take. Not to mention my immediate family. So, Happy New Year to all of you. And of course, Happy Knitting.
