Girasole Shawl/blanket.

In Italian Girasole means sunflower. When you look at the pattern Jared Flood’s design blossoms and comes to life!

“The pattern is worked in the round with a traditional circular shawl construction - started in the center and increasing outward towards the edges as you work. My favorite thing about circular shawls is, as you may have guessed, absolutely no purling(!) - and this one is no exception. Also, every other round is plain knitting, so essentially half of the knitting is mindless stockinette.” (quoted text from Jared’s website Brooklyn Tweed).

This beautiful piece can be made with your choice of yarn weight. Lace weight will produce a gorgeous lacy shawl, mid-weight for a baby blanket and worsted weight will give you a beautiful blanket for wrapping up in during the cold season.

Sign up for this special Sunday class, purchase the pattern, yarn and appropriate needle sizes, you will need both circular and double pointed, available at the Yarn Cupboard.

with Julie Mattina

All classes will be held on Sunday afternoons, future dates will be by decision of the students. Join Julie and plan to relax with a big project that is deceptively easy and will result in an heirloom knit.

June lace class will be Sunday the 12th from 12.30pm to 2.30pm.
