Isager Yarn
I have been fortunate to have spent time knitting with Marianne Isager at two different workshops. She is a Danish designer who with her daughter Helga , have wonderful books, patterns and yarns. Marianne Isager’s is known for patterns with fine gauge yarns which give you more flexibility and clearer patterns. In this way, you can have more control of the texture and feel of your garment. Her Isager Bolmuld (mercerized cotton) has beautiful bright colors, the Isager Viscolin is a light linen/visolin fingering blend that has more muted colors and when combined with the Bolmuld can give you beautiful color and feel. The Isager Wool 1 (Spvinni) is a one ply wool lace weight and colors coorespond to the the Isager Wool 2 (Tivinni) a light sport weight, Isager Wool 2 is a merino lambs wool which is spun in Denmark. There is the Isager Highland wool , a two ply fingering wool spun in Scotland. And then Isager Alpaca 1 the laceweight and the sport weight Isager Alpaca 2. The combinations are really up to you and your creativity. Yarn Cupboard carries her full range of yarns, books and booklets and are looking forward to her new books this autumn. Her books include Knitting Out of Africa, Japanese Inspired Knits, and Classic Knits.
